Overview
When clients first open the Home Search page in the app or online, the search field is empty. Admins can set a default location for the search field that will apply to all clients of all agents.
This is useful if an agency specializes in a certain geographic region and you want to make sure that clients stay within the correct area in their search. Clients can still replace the search location if they want.
Agents can also set a default location for the Home Search. The agent’s default will override any admin selection. All of the agent's clients will see the agent’s chosen default when they first open the Home Search page.
In this article, we’ll go over how to set the default location for the Home Search.
Note: If you are using Follow Up Boss (FUB) as a CRM, you can use the embedded app directly in FUB to accomplish tasks and view information. See the article Using Follow Up Boss with Ruuster for more information.
Search Settings
On a mobile device, hit the menu button in the top right.
For desktops, look at the left navigation bar. Select Search Settings.
Your agency’s settings will populate the address field. If your agency does not have a default location set up, then the field will be blank.
Enter the location you want to show up in the Home Search for your clients and click Save Changes.
If you want to remove your location and use your agency’s settings, click the Clear my personal settings and use settings from my brokerage button at the bottom of the page.
