Overview
When engaging with clients in chat you may want to do more than send simple messages back and forth. Maybe you want to send a reaction emoji, send over an important file, or copy an old message to resend. We’ll go over all these features and more in the article below.

Note: If you are using Follow Up Boss (FUB) as a CRM, you can use the embedded app directly in FUB to accomplish tasks and view information. The article Using Follow Up Boss with Ruuster for more information.
Send a Message
Sending a message in the chat is simple. Click the Enter message field at the bottom of the chat, type your message, and hit the Enter key.
Add Attachments
You can add attachments from your device to client messages. In the client chat, click the paperclip icon in the bottom right.
Select the file you wish to upload. You can attach images and text files for your clients.
You can also type a message in the Enter message field.
When you’re done, hit the Enter key to send the attachment.
Copy Messages
If there is a previous message sent by you or a client that you want to copy and paste, click on the message and select the three dots. Choose Copy in the dropdown.
You can now paste the message anywhere you want.
Note: This only works with regular messages, you cannot copy an entire house listing shared by a client.
Edit Messages
If you need to update a message you sent a client, click on the desired message. Select the three dots underneath the message and choose Edit.
The current message will open in a text box. Make changes to the message and then click Save to apply your changes.
Delete Messages
To remove a message you sent to a client, click on the desired message. Select the three dots underneath the message and click Delete.
Send a Reaction Emoji
If you want to react to a client message with an emoji, first click on the client message. Underneath click the smile icon.
A menu of emojis will display, select the desired emoji.
If you selected the wrong emoji, click on it to remove it.
View Property Details
Clients can send links to properties they are interested in via chat. To see more information about the property, simply click on the link.
The property details page will open.
When you’re done looking at the property, you can return to the chat using the top left arrow.
