Overview
If you want to keep your client interactions in one place, you can integrate Sierra with your app. When integrated, you can use tags in Sierra to perform actions in your app without leaving your CRM and all client activity in the app will sync back to Sierra.
Only admins can set up the integration for Sierra and Ruuster. Once an admin has set up the integration, any user with matching emails in Sierra and Ruuster will automatically have the integrated features.
If you use Sierra as just an IDX website and not as a CRM (i.e. if you use Follow Up Boss as your CRM), follow the instructions in the section below for using Sierra as an IDX tool, then make sure your Follow Up Boss is integrated as your CRM.
Note: It is important to make sure that the same email is used for Sierra and your app. If a user has different emails for their Sierra and app accounts, the integration will not work. For example, Jane Doe must be jdoe@email.com for both her Sierra and Ruuster accounts.
In this article, we’ll explain how to set up a Sierra and Ruuster integration.
Get a Sierra API Key
Sign in to your Sierra account. Click the gear icon in the top right and then select Integrations in the dropdown.
Scroll down to the Direct API section and select Sierra Interactive.
Under the All tab, look for the API key. Click Copy next to the key.
Now it is time to paste the API key into Ruuster.
Apply API Key to Ruuster
When your app account is created you should receive a URL based on your agency name. An example would be https://yourcompany.ruuster.com. Open up the browser version of your app to get started with integrations.
In the top right, click your username and then Account Settings in the dropdown.
Where you go in account settings depends on whether you use Sierra for CRM or just as an IDX tool. Pick the appropriate section below for the final setup steps.
Sierra as a CRM
Scroll down to the CRM Integrations section. Use the dropdown to select Sierra Interactive.
Paste your Sierra API key into the Api-key field and submit the key.
You’ll see the message Connection established under the key if the integration was successful.
Sierra is now integrated with your app!
Sierra as an IDX Tool
Note: If you are using Sierra as both your IDX website and your CRM, you should enter the API key in both the CRM Integration and IDX Providers section of the app. The API Key will be the same for integrating each.
Scroll down to the IDX Providers section. Use the dropdown to select Sierra Interactive.
Paste your Sierra API key into the Api-key field and hit Add.
You’ll see Sierra Interactive listed under Connected Providers if the integration was successful. If you want to remove the connection, you can click the trashcan icon.
Sierra is now integrated with your app!
