Overview

If you want to keep your client interactions in one place, you can integrate Follow Up Boss (FUB) with Ruuster. When integrated, you can use an embedded version of your app directly in FUB. 

Only admins can set up the integration for FUB and Ruuster. Once an admin has set up the integration, any user with matching emails in FUB and Ruuster will automatically have the integrated features. 

Note: It is important to make sure that the same email is used for FUB and your app. If a user has different emails for the account, the integration will not work. For example, Jane Doe must be jdoe@email.com for her FUB and Ruuster accounts.

In this article, we’ll explain how to set up a FUB and Ruuster integration. 

Get a Follow Up Boss API Key

**Please note: The API key must be generated by the Follow Up Boss account owner. If an account admin generates the API key, and not the account owner, the integration will not work as expected. 

Sign in to your FUB account. Select Admin along the top menu and then the Overview tab. 

Scroll down to the Integrations section. Click API Keys & Lead Email. 

The API Settings page will open. Click Create API Key. 

A window will open where you can Name your API key. It is recommended to name your key something simple and easily recognizable such as Ruuster Integration. When you’re done click Create API Key. 

Your API key will be generated. Click Copy to the right of the key. 

Warning: You cannot view this key again, so make sure you have copied the key correctly. You may want to leave this window open and make sure the key is pasted correctly before closing it.

Click Done when you are sure you have copied the API Key.

Now it is time to paste the API key into Ruuster.

Apply API Key to Ruuster

When your Ruuster account is created you should receive a URL based on your agency name. An example would be https://yourcompany.ruuster.com. Open up the browser version of Ruuster to get started with integrations. 

In the top right, click your username and then Account Settings in the dropdown. 

Scroll down to the CRM Integrations section. Use the dropdown to select Follow Up Boss. 

Paste your FUB API key into the Api-key field and submit the key.

If the integration was successful, you’ll see the message Connection established under the key. 

The last step is to enable the Ruuster embedded app in FUB.

Check App Embed

Open up your FUB account. Select Admin along the top menu and then the Overview tab. 

Scroll down to the Integrations section. Click All Integrations. 

Look for the Embedded Apps section. Look for the Ruuster logo. A green checkmark means that the Ruuster app is embedded in FUB. 

If there is no checkmark, click on the Ruuster logo. 

Scroll down the page and select Enable at the bottom and the Ruuster app will now be embedded. 

Your FUB and Ruuster integration is now complete!
