Enroll in Apple Developer and Add Ruuster as Admin

How to set up an Apple Developer Program account for your organization and grant Ruuster admin access so we can publish your branded app.

To publish your branded Ruuster app on the App Store, your brokerage needs its own Apple Developer Program account. This guide walks you through checking for a DUNS number, enrolling as an organization, and adding Ruuster as an admin so we can build and submit your app on your behalf.

Before you start

  • You must enroll as a Company/Organization, not as an individual or sole proprietor. Individual accounts do not grant Ruuster the access level needed to upload your app.

  • You will need an Apple ID. If you don't have one, create one at appleid.apple.com before beginning.

  • The annual Apple Developer Program fee is $99 USD. Have a payment method ready.

  • The website you enter during enrollment must be a live, public-facing site tied to your company.

Step 1: Check whether your company has a DUNS number

Apple requires a DUNS number to verify your organization's identity during enrollment. Look up your company before requesting a new number — you may already have one.

Step 2: Apply for a DUNS number (if needed)

If your company does not have a DUNS number, request one for free through Dun & Bradstreet. Processing can take up to 30 days, though expedited options may be available.

Step 3: Enroll in the Apple Developer Program

Once you have a DUNS number, go to Apple's Developer Enrollment page and follow these steps.

  1. Click Enroll in the top-right corner of the enrollment page.

  2. Click Start Your Enrollment and sign in with your Apple ID.

  3. Select Company / Organization as your entity type. Do not choose Individual or Sole Proprietor — that account type does not give Ruuster the access needed to upload your app.

  4. Enter your company's website URL. It must be a live, public site associated with your organization.

  5. Enter your company's DUNS number when prompted.

  6. Complete the remaining enrollment steps and pay the $99 annual fee.

  7. Apple will email you 2-3 days later asking you to verify your identity. Be on the lookout for that email!

Step 4: Add Ruuster as an admin user

After your Apple Developer account is active, invite Ruuster so we can proceed with your app.

  1. Log in to developer.apple.com.

  2. Click People in the left-hand menu.

  3. Click Invite People and enter dev@ruuster.com.

  4. Set the role to Admin and send the invitation.

Step 5: Notify Ruuster

Once you've completed the steps above, email onboarding@ruuster.com to let us know. We'll confirm receipt of the invitation and walk you through what comes next.

Good to know

  • DUNS number processing takes up to 30 days. Start this step as early as possible to avoid delays in your app launch.

  • The Apple Developer Program membership renews annually at $99. Apple will send renewal reminders to the account's primary email address.

  • Apple may contact your organization by phone to verify your identity during enrollment. Make sure the phone number on file with Dun & Bradstreet is current.

  • If your enrollment is rejected, check that your DUNS number matches the legal name and address Apple has on file for your organization.

FAQ

Why can't I just enroll as an individual instead of a company?

Individual Apple Developer accounts don't support the multi-user access and admin roles that Ruuster needs to upload and manage your app. You must register as a Company/Organization.

How long does the whole process take before Ruuster can start building my app?

If you already have a DUNS number, enrollment typically takes a few business days once Apple verifies your organization. If you need to request a DUNS number first, allow up to 30 additional days for that step alone.

What if I already have an Apple Developer account?

If your organization is already enrolled, skip to Step 4 and add dev@ruuster.com as an Admin user, then email us at onboarding@ruuster.com.

Will Ruuster have access to my entire Apple account?

The Admin role gives Ruuster the permissions needed to submit and manage your app. Apple Developer admin access is scoped to the developer portal and does not grant access to your Apple ID, iCloud, or billing information.

I sent the invitation to dev@ruuster.com — what happens next?

After you send the invite, email onboarding@ruuster.com to let us know. We'll accept the invitation and reach out with your next onboarding steps.

Do I need to renew my Apple Developer membership every year?

Yes. Apple charges $99 annually to maintain your Developer Program membership. If the membership lapses, your app will be removed from the App Store until it is renewed.
